County calendar for Jan. 12

THURSDAY

— The Wilmore Senior Community Center will host movie night Thursday, Jan. 12, at 6 p.m. This month’s movie is “Water for Elephants.”

— The Jessamine County Senior Center, located at 111 Hoover Drive, will host a Body Recall, a 10-week program of physical fitness for the senior adult, on Tuesday and Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. starting Jan. 17. — The Jessamine County Public Library will host an introduction to computers class from 10 a.m. to noon.

— The Jessamine County Public Library will host “How to borrow Library eBooks with a Kindle” from 1-2 p.m.

— The Jessamine County Public Library will host Teen Animé and Manga Club from 4-6 p.m.

FRIDAY

— The Wilmore Senior Community Center will host “I Deserve to Be Happy” Friday, Jan. 13, at 1:15 p.m.

— The Jessamine County Public Library will host Jump and Jive at 10:30 a.m.

SATURDAY

— A free meal is provided by Manna Ministries each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal is a restaurant-quality meal served at 303 W. Maple St. in the community center of Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The meal is open to the public for anyone in need. Takeout meals are available after 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome and can contact the office at 859-885-4481.

— The Jessamine County Public Library will host Eating for Well Beings at 11:30 a.m.

— The Jessamine County Public Library will host HG Library-Homemade Organic Bath Products at 2 p.m.

SUNDAY

— St. Athanasius Orthodox Church, located at 926 S. Main St. (next to the Prescription Pad), offers free bread to families and individuals in need in the Nicholasville area. St. Athanasius distributes this bread, supplied by Panera, every Sunday from 1-2 p.m. on the porch of the South Main Street location.

— The Jessamine County will host an indoor drive-in movie “Cars 2” at 2 p.m.

MONDAY

— The Jessamine County Senior Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and welcomes people 60 years of age and older. The center has a fully equipped exercise room and a thrift shop. The seniors meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bus service and a hot lunch are available on a donation basis. For more information, call 859-885-9102.

— The Jessamine County Public Library will host Mother Goose Storytime at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
