THURSDAY
— Every Thursday morning in February and March, the Wilmore Senior Community Center will offer “Matter of Balance” classes from 10 a.m. to noon. The class is free and open to the public. For more information, call 858-3865, ext. 238.
— New Parent University will feature a pediatric massage class from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Jessamine County Public Library.
FRIDAY
— The Jessamine County Public Library will host family story time from 10:30-11 a.m.
— New Haven Chapel, 109 Edgewood Plaza, will host its monthly singing at 6 p.m. All singers and musicians are invited to participate. For more information, call Pastor Billy Peel at 885-6691.
— Mt. Eden Christian Church, located at the corner of Tates Creek and Spears roads, will host a Spears Neighborhood Watch Meeting from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Law-enforcement officials will be present to field questions and provide information about the program and crimes in the Spears area.
— Wilmore Senior Community Center will host the Asbury University Student Recital at 1 p.m.
— Asbury University will dedicate the new Andrew S. Miller Center for Communication Arts at 11 a.m. An open house will follow from 1:30-9 p.m.
SATURDAY
— Jessamine County EMS provides CPR training to the public at a nominal fee on the fourth Saturday of each month. To register, call 887-2987 or register online at www.jcems911.com.
— The Jessamine County Public Library will host a College Application Essay Workshop from 1-2 p.m.
— A free meal is provided by Manna Ministries each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal is a restaurant-quality meal served at 303 W. Maple St. in the community center of Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The meal is open to the public for anyone in need. Takeout meals are available after 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome and can contact the office at 885-4481.
SUNDAY
— Sunday Funday at the Jessamine County Public Library will feature homemade catnip cat toys. The event begins at 2 p.m.
MONDAY
— The Jessamine County Senior Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and welcomes people 60 years of age and older. The center has a fully equipped exercise room and a thrift shop. The seniors meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bus service and a hot lunch are available on a donation basis. For more information, call 885-9102.
— The Jessamine County Senior Center, 111 Hoover Drive, plays bingo from noon to 1 p.m. Monday and Friday afternoons. Call 885-9102 for more information.
— Mother Goose story time at the Jessamine County Public Library will be at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
— AARP will be preparing taxes for all ages on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon through April 13 at the Jessamine County Senior Center. Call 859-887-9102 for an appointment.
— Wilmore Free Methodist Church, 1200 Lexington Avenue, will host the children’s musical “The Backyard Bunch” at 8:30 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. The musical will be presented by the children’s choir, Heaven’s Harmony. Child care will be provided for children through age 3. The public is also invited to a community Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. on March 9.
