James “Colton” Mahan, 22, was indicted Friday, June 20, on a multitude of theft-related charges.
A Jessamine County grand jury found enough evidence to support two counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of theft of property valued at less than $500, three counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument, third-degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mahan was charged with second-degree robbery for allegedly stealing a woman’s purse off her shoulder as she walked through the Kroger parking lot off South Main Street in Nicholasville on Sunday, May 27.
According to a news release, officers chased Mahan and eventually found him hiding inside someone’s backyard storage building.
