A young boy suffered minor injuries to his face after being hit by a car in downtown Nicholasville on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. when the boy and his father were getting ready to get into their car near Main and Chestnut streets.
“It sounds like the son and the dad were walking out to get into a parked car on Main Street, and the dad stopped, but the son didn’t stop in time, and he got clipped by a mirror of a passing vehicle,” Nicholasville police Sgt. Scott Harvey said. “He was transported (to a Lexington hospital), but he seems to be OK. We wanted to get him checked out because he was hit in the face by a mirror.”
Harvey said the driver of the car will not face charges.
“Basically, (the boy) walked out between two parked cars, and as we all know, it’s difficult to stop when that happens,” Harvey said. “It was just an unfortunate accident.”
