Paul Bimschleger, of Nicholasville, Ky., lost his wife and more than 50-year companion last May to Alzheimer’s disease. A life-long golfer and founder of the Central Kentucky Senior Men’s Golf Association, Bimschleger is hosting the first annual A Round to Remember ™ golf scramble to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Greater KY Chapter on Saturday, June 23. The event will take place at Connemara Golf Course in Nicholasville, Ky.
“We saw how many families were affected by this disease and thought that the golf scramble would be a nice tribute to those who have passed and a way to raise support for research,” Bimschleger said. “My many years in golf have allowed me to meet hundreds of golfers; many of whom will be joining me in the scramble.”
“Several of my friends who have lost a wife, child, mom, dad, aunt, or uncle to Alzheimer’s will be there with me that day. We are excited to remember our loved ones, have a fun day, and support this cause, he said.”

The Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter is a non-profit organization that serves persons with Alzheimer’s disease and their families in this area with programs and services including family caregiver training, a 24-hour telephone helpline, referral listings, family support groups, educational programs and advocacy.
