The Jessamine County Coroner’s office has identified a man who was hit and killed by a train near Baker Lane early Wednesday morning, Feb. 27.
According to coroner Michael Hughes, Charles Everett Carter of Hill Rise Court in Lexington was hit and killed by a train from the Norfolk Southern railroad company around 12:30 a.m.
The cause of death, Hughes said, was blunt-force trauma to the head and body.
The incident occurred just south of Baker Lane, near U.S. 27, Hughes said.
