The Providence School’s annual Empty Bowls luncheon has been moved up this year from its usual position near the end of the spring semester. This year’s event will take place Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school, located at 210 S. Lexington Ave in Wilmore.

Art teacher Liz Spurlock began the project seven years ago. Students make bowls in class, and those who attend the lunch pay $10 and get to take one of the student-made bowls home. Spurlock said she and the students are in “non-stop firing mode” right now preparing for the luncheon.
