A Jessamine County teenager made the finals of the Westminster Kennel Club’s dog show this week.
Kristin Lawless, 16, was one of eight to make the final cut in the junior-showmanship category of the national show in New York, according to the club’s website. There were more than 100 entries. She competed with her Nova Scotia duck-tolling retriever, Cruiser.
Lawless was featured on national TV earlier this month when the American Kennel Club’s Eukanuba National Championship was televised on ABC. Lawless was also a junior-showmanship finalist in that competition, taped in Florida in December, and was the recipient of one of four college scholarships.
