Shpend Alija, 20, of 701 Elmwood Court was indicted Friday, June 20, for first-degree sexual abuse.
According to the Nicholasville police arrest citation from May 3, Alija allegedly “admitted to sexually touching area of a 1-year-old child while visually thinking about the intimate area of an adult for the purpose of gratifying his sexual desires.” A trial date has not been set.
Alija also faces other charges, including complicity fraudulent use of a credit card and complicity of theft by unlawful taking — shoplifting. He pleaded not guilty, and a jury trial is set for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8.
