After strong performances in the preliminary round Saturday, July 14, 15 youth bands from across Kentucky and Indiana were chosen to advance to the final round of Battle of the Bands at the Kentucky State Fair. Nicholasville will be represented by the group Every Color.
The preliminaries were held at Mom’s Music in Louisville. Twenty-four bands qualified to compete.
The 15 advancing bands will be profiled on the Kentucky State Fair’s Young Adult Project Facebook page in the weeks leading up to the Battle of the Bands finals, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m in the Farm Credit YAP tent in the Thrillway at the Kentucky State Fair. The winners will receive the championship guitar and recording opportunities at Jetlag Records.
Farm Credit Mid-America sponsors the fair’s venue for youth music. Young musicians are showcased in the Farm Credit YAP Tent in the Thrillway each of the 11 days of the fair.
