Wilmore Elementary School celebrated its seventh straight year with the district's highest attendance Friday morning as principal Andrea McNeal dressed as a monkey and farmily-resource-center director Carlola Foster dressed as a banana in honor of the motto "We don't monkey around; we go bananas over attendance." The school exceeded 96-percent attendance in 2011-2012 for the second straight year. In addition to having the highest attendance among elementary schools for the seventh year in a row, Wilmore had the highest attendance among all district schools for the sixth straight year. McNeal is spending the day in her makeshift "tree," continuing her tradition of doing something special to honor the attendance award.
