A Wilmore man who has been charged with attempted escape and third-degree assault of a corrections officer will have his day in court in March. The jury trial is scheduled for March 12 at 8:30 a.m. in Jessamine Circuit Court.

James Conn was charged in September by Jessamine County Detention Center deputy Fred Frick.

According to the arrest report, Conn “forcibly shoved (a deputy) to escape from the RCC (Restricted Custody Center)” on Sept. 17, 2012.

Conn was indicted by a Jessamine County grand jury Oct. 10 and pleaded not guilty on Oct. 30.

The arrest report stated that once Conn was outside the RCC, he got in a scuffle with deputies, who eventually subdued him.
