There is a heavier police presence than normal at East Jessamine High School on Friday morning as officers were responding to a possible threat that was written on one of the girls’ bathroom walls.

Model cars displayed at City-County Park

Hundreds of model cars were on display last Saturday at a model car show held at the City-County Park. The show is put on at least once a year by Michael Logue and Charlie Hatton, both of Nicholasville, Logue said. This year, the pair plan to hold a second show in October.

Magistrates tour jail with expansion in mind

Jessamine County Fiscal Court magistrates got a first-hand look Tuesday at the inside of the Jessamine County Detention Center and some of the reasons the jailer says the building is in need of upgrades and an expansion.

Nicholasville OKs zone changes, annexation

The Nicholasville City Commission approved a zone change request for approximately 6.03 acres of property located at the corner of East Brannon Road and Lauderdale Drive. The change moves the property from P-1 (professional district) to R-3 (multi-family residential district). The commission approved zone changes for .30 acres of land in the same area from R-1T (townhouse residential) to R-3.

Cost rises for Wilmore streetscape add-on

GED test free in Ky. through July

The GED test will be free in Kentucky from May 15 to July 31. Kentuckians taking the test during that time frame will not have to pay the usual test fee, which will be paid by Kentucky Adult Education, a unit of the Council on Postsecondary Education.

Burglary victim tracks down two suspects
