Bertha Elizabeth Hensley died Saturday, Feb. 25. She was born in Lexington to the late George Hulett and the late Gladys Betty McLain Hullet. She is survived by her children, Deborah and husband Roger Short of Indianapolis, Ind., Betty and husband Rick Hensley of Lexington, Ronnie and wife Kathy Hensley of Mount Vernon, Larry Hensley of Nicholasville, and Melissa and husband Tristan Hensley of Somerset; grandchildren Jennifer Short, Marilyn Lindsey, Britany Hensley, Dylan Hensley, Noah Hensley, Leigh Anna Dees, Sharlotte Dees, Lucas Dees, Nathan Spradlin and Chloe Spradlin; great-grandchildren Jordan Short and Bella Short; and sisters Wavie Marcus and Ethel Rutherford. Her husband, Nathan Hensley; and her son, George Nathan Hensley, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at Southland Christian Church Building A by the Rev. Ronald Riley. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Jessamine County Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by funeral director Terry W.
