Homer Lee Hurt, 76, peacefully passed away March 19 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah surrounded by family members including his wife of 48 years, Jo-Ann Fitzwater Hurt.
He was the son of the late James L. Hurt and Mary Gladys Bruner Hurt. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl L. Hurt; and a sister, Faye Hurt Henry.
Survivors are his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth and husband Henry Reynolds, Donald and wife Georgia Hurt, Linda Land, and James W. “Pete” and wife Sharon Hurt. His children are Verna and husband Ray Sparks, Carolyn and husband Ricky Cheek, Tim and wife Vickie Hurt, Donna and husband Scott Nye, and Jeff and wife Becky Hurt; stepchildren Romona and husband Ray Willhoite, Keith and wife Lynn Sayre, and Mary-Jo and husband Stanley Parks; as well as 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a faithful, beloved dog, Toby. He was a longtime employee of Faulkner & Fain Cabinet Co. and retired from Adcom Wire Co.
