Irene Rainwater of Wilmore passed away Sunday, June 17. Irene was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 50 years, Ezra Rainwater. In her 89 years, Irene owned and operated several small businesses. In addition, Irene was a member of several boards and taught Sunday school at Wilmore United Methodist Church. In her retirement years, Irene was the church hostess and operated the dining hall at Wilmore Camp Meeting. Irene was the mother of  four sons and daughters-in-laws, Harold and Shari Rainwater of Wilmore,  James and Wanda Rainwater of Wilmore, Vernon and Connie Rainwater of Orlando, and Randy and Anita Rainwater of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  Visitation is Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at Betts and West Funeral Home in Nicholasville.  Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Wilmore United Methodist Church. www.BettsandWestfuneralhome.com.
