James E. Helton, 48, died unexpectedly in Columbus, Ohio, on July 5. He was the widower of Jeanine Helton Greene and son of the late Clabern and Dorrene Helton, and a self-employed truck driver. Survivors include children Tommy Silcott and Savannah Helton; stepchildren Craig, Amanda and Steven Green; brothers Donnie Helton and wife Denise, Bobby Helton and wife Teresea, Darin Helton and wife Verla, Eddie Helton, and Michael Helton; sisters Beverly Woods and husband Vinson, Donna Gayheart and husband Kenneth, and Brenda McCowan Helton and husband Doug; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The remembrance ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, where he will be laid to rest. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.
