Mrs. Mattie C. Taylor Walker, 95, widow of Wallace Walker, entered eternal rest Saturday, July 14. A native of Jessamine County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Sallie Williams Taylor. Her brothers, William H. Taylor, George L. Taylor and Charles Leon Taylor; and sister, Lucy Bell Burns, also preceded her in death.
Aunt C., as she was lovingly called, was the oldest member of Macedonia Baptist Church, oldest resident of Keene, and a member of Fairest Chapter #104 Order of Eastern Star, P. H. A. Jurisdiction of Kentucky, Inc., Nicholasville.
She leaves to cherish her memory a brother, Marion A. and wife Edwina Taylor of Keene; a special brother, Dr. John George; and several generations of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 21, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Keene, with the Rev. T. L. Jones officiating. Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery, Keene. Visitation was at 11 a.m.. Arrangements were entrusted to O. L. Hughes & Sons Mortuary, Lexington.
