Ray “Grampy” Hager, 84, husband of 37 years to Debbie Smith Hager, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, after a short illness. Ray was a retired dispatcher for the Nicholasville Police Department, a World War II Army veteran and served for several years as a faithful volunteer at the Community Service Center of Wilmore-High Bridge. Additional survivors include two grandchildren, Eric and Audrey; a brother, Elesteen P. and wife Mary Hager; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. “Grampy” will be forever missed by his family.  Services were 9 a.m. Monday at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Leonard Fitch officiating.
