Manna Ministries offers free meals at NUMC

A free meal is provided by Manna Ministries each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meal is a restaurant-quality meal served at 303 W. Maple St. in the community center of Nicholasville United Methodist Church. The meal is open to the public for anyone in need. Takeout meals are available after 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are always welcome and can contact the office at 859-885-4481.

FAS announces summer book series

The Francis Asbury Society is pleased to announce their new summer book series. The public is cordially invited to come one evening each month during June, July and August to discuss a book with practical applications to the Christian faith. The author will be present at each discussion. Dr. Matt Friedeman will join us via Skype on Thursday, July 12, to discuss his book, “Discipleship in the Home.” The final study will be Thursday, Aug. 9, with Dr. John Oswalt discussing his study of 1st John, “On Being a Christian.” All book discussions will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Francis Asbury Society Ministry Center, 1580 Lexington Road, Wilmore. Faith United to host concert

Faith United Community Church, located at 3080 Brannon Road, Nicholasville, will host a southern and bluegrass gospel concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 28. St. Athanasius offers free bread Sundays

Saint Athanasius Orthodox Church, located at 926 S. Main St., offers free bread to families and individuals in need in the Nicholasville area. Saint Athanasius distributes this bread, supplied by Panera, every Sunday from 1-2 p.m. on the porch of the South Main Street location.

Gospel on the Green event set for Friday

The Gospel on the Green concert series will feature Chris Gregory and New Journey the Kentucky Girls. Music starts at 7 p.m. at the Downtown Green in Wilmore. Tables and chairs will be provided, or you may bring your own. Local food vendors will be on hand to sell their fare. Please bring a canned food item to donate to the local food pantry or pet food for the county’s new animal shelter.

Ministerial association to meet July 10

The Jessamine County Ministerial Association will meet at noon July 10 at Bethany Christian Church located at 1360 Bethany Road, Nicholasville. Jessamine County pastors, ministers and chaplains are invited to attend this luncheon. RSVPs are not required but are appreciated.
