Alpha Leah Miniard Hall, 95, widow of Howard K. Hall, died Saturday, July 9, 2011.  She was born Jan. 22, 1916 in Hazard, to the late Isreal Miniard and Cora Ellen Turner Begley. Survivors are four children, Shirley and husband Jerry Castle of Chicago, Howard E. and Darnell Hall of Nicholasville, Sue and husband Prestly Garrett of Richmond, Ken Hall of Elgin, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melba Stevens. Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home.  Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
