George William Brumfield, 93, a native of Jessamine County, died Monday. He was a member of Bethel Christian Church and the Jessamine County Historical Society. He was the oldest member of the Hart Lodge F&AM, as well as a breeder of Tennessee Walking Horses, former employee of the state of Kentucky, builder and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include sister Mary Ester Lockridge, sister-in-law Barbara S. Brumfield, three nephews, two neices, five great-nephews, and five great-nieces. He was preceded in death by brother Bernard R. Brumfield, brother-in-law Billy Lockridge, a nephew, and a great-neice. Services were Friday, Aug. 19, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home. Visitation was Thursday.
