Why no high school bands at the parade?

To the editor,
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylania. Within 10 miles of the town were two other towns. Each town had and still has a small high school. Each high school has a band. Each year one town has a parade honoring veterans, and the band from each high school participates in the parade. I participated in the Veterans Day parade in Wilmore. I could not beleive that with two large high schools within 10 miles of Wilmore neither high school’s band participated in the parade to honor veterans. Somehow the importance of honoring the veterans by participating in the parade was forgotten by the schools’ administration.
