Asbury University's musical-theater ensemble is presenting a large compilation of small numbers this weekend. "Broadway Cameos" is set to go on stage Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. in the Greathouse Theatre at Asbury's Miller Center for Communication Arts in Wilmore. Thirteen students were chosen for the ensemble in spring 2012, and they began selecting songs and rehearsing in the fall semester. The show includes 19 family-friendly musical numbers, most all from Broadway shows. "We try to span a lot of time," said Renita Koehn, director and adjunct professor at Asbury. "The earliest song is from the 1800s -- obviously not a Broadway show -- but a comedic song from the vaudeville era, all the way up till somewhere in the 2000s." Tickets for the show are $5 and can be purchased at the Kinlaw Library front desk and at the door.
