East, West Jessamine swimmers compete at state meet

Three local swimmers and a relay team competed at the 2012 KHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships last weekend.

East Jessamine’s Josh Adams competed in the boys’ 100-yard butterfly. The sophomore placed 26th in the event and improved his region time of 57.10 seconds to 56.35 at state.

West Jessamine’s Britt Fugmann competed in the girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.

In the 50, the freshman placed 27th with a time of 25.66. In the 100, she placed 29th with a time of 57.20.

West’s Reid Allen, a senior, swam in the boys’ 100-yard breaststroke. He came in 25th overall with a time of 1:04.66.

West Jessamine’s 200-yard-medley relay team of Michael Peck, Allen, Chance Barney and Wyatt Lamb placed 28th. The Colts combined for a time of 1:49.72, improving their region time by nearly one second.
