East girls soccer informational meeting
East Jessamine girls’ soccer coach DeAngelo Wiser and the booster team will be holding an informational meeting for all current and prospective high-school girls’ soccer players and their parents (grades 7-12 for the upcoming 2012 season).
There will be a review of the summer practice schedule, Centre College camp, fall game schedules, expectations, fundraising events, and answering of questions.
The meeting will be held at JCTC on Wednesday, April 25 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Tough as Nails soccer camp
West Jessamine girls’ scocer coach Kevin Wright is conducting the Tough as Nails soccer camp at Southland Christian Church this summer.
The camp will include footwork, skill work (dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, heading and goalkeeping) and small side games.
The camp staff includes, Wright, Nate Andrews, Jen Andrews, Michelle Rayner, Lewis Hale, Kelly Cook, Craig Moberley, BJ Hall, Adam Howard and Ryan Moberley.
Camp is for boys and girls ages 4 to 14. Camps will run on June 4-7, June 11-14 and June 18-21.
The cost of camp is $60 per athlete prior to first day of camp and $65 on first day of camp. Each additional athlete from a family is $50 (prior to first day) and $55 (on first day).

West Middle wins All-Comer Meet
The West Jessamine Middle School boys’ and girls’ track teams won the All-Comers Meet on April 13.
The Lady Colts (45.5) edged Lexington Catholic (45) and East Jessamine (41.5).
The Colts (69) blew out East (49) and Lexington Catholic (12).
On April 11, the West girls placed second out of 14 teams at Western Hills with 68.5 points.
The boys placed third with 51 points.
Nazya Moore had West Jessamine’s lone first-place finish. She won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.16 seconds.
Local sinks hole in one
Jessamine County’s Chandler Fisher sank a hole-in-one at Dale Hollow Lake Golf Course in Burkesville on
April 4.
Fisher sank his tee shot on the third hole, a 240-yard par-3. He was using a 5 iron and was witnessed by Jerry Harmen.
