West volleyball car wash

The West Jessamine High School volleyball team will be having a free car wash Saturday, May 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marathon station next to Bruster’s on U.S. 27.

Donations for the program’s booster club will be accepted.

Tough as Nails soccer camp

West Jessamine girls’ soccer coach Kevin Wright is conducting the Tough as Nails soccer camp at Southland Christian Church this summer.

The camp will include footwork, skill work (dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, heading and goalkeeping) and small side games.

The camp staff includes Wright, Nate Andrews, Jen Andrews, Michelle Rayner, Lewis Hale, Kelly Cook, Craig Moberley, BJ Hall, Adam Howard and Ryan Moberley.

Camp is for boys and girls ages 4 to 14. Camps will run on June 4-7, June 11-14 and June 18-21.

The cost of camp is $60 per athlete prior to first day of camp and $65 on first day of camp. Each additional athlete from a family is $50 (prior to first day) and $55 (on first day).

Wilmore summer tennis

Wilmore Summer Tennis will be held from June 5-July 12 at the Asbury University tennis courts.

Get instruction on learning the game or improving your existing game and have plenty of opportunity to play matches for ages 8 through adults.

Youth beginners meet twice a week for 30 minutes each time. Cost is $45.

Adult beginners and intermediate players meet twice a week for an hour each time for instruction and matches. Cost is $85.

Advanced players meet three times per week for some instruction and matches. Cost is $75.

Free conditioning program

The Nicholasville Panthers (NPYF) will be hosting the second annual Panther H.I.T. (High Intensity Training) program. This conditioning program is designed to improve quickness, speed and endurance.

It will be held at City-County Park every Monday and Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. starting May 21 and concluding June 7. The program is open to 5-year-old to 12-year-old boys and girls of all sports.

Lexington night at Great American

Lexington Community Night will take place Saturday, May 26, as the Cincinnati Reds take on the Colorado Rockies at 7:15 p.m. at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Lexington residents and those of surrounding areas can purchase discount tickets for most non-premium seating locations.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.reds.com/lexington.  

Discount tickets must be purchased by Friday, May 25 to receive the Lexington Night discount.  Discount tickets cannot be purchased at the box office on the day of the game.
