Three local athletes and West Jessamine students had brilliant performances this past weekend at the sixth annual Kentucky Junior Masters Championship.
High-school teammates Conner Haas and Fred Allen Meyer were pitted against each other in a playoff after both shot a two-round total of 146 (two-over par). Haas birdied the fourth hole of the playoff to win.
Grace Rose shot a two-round total of 155 (75-80) to finish at 11-over par — one off the winner. Rose had a one-stroke lead after the first day.
The championship was at Champion Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville on May 5 and May 6.
