With the VisitNich.Com Bowl seemingly well established, Soccerrama will continue in 2013.
Last Thursday, Jessamine County athletic director Ken Cox announced the schools participating in the 2013 Soccerrama — which will be Aug. 24 and 25 at the West Jessamine High School soccer complex.
The girls’ teams will be Bishop Brossart High School (Alexandria) and Pope John Paul II (Hendersonville, Tenn.) in addition to East Jessamine and West Jessamine.
Bishop Brossart is coming off an 18-6-1 season that included district and region titles and a trip to the state tournament.
Pope John Paul II has been a recent opponent of West Jessamine the last few years and is one of the top programs out of Tennessee.
The boys’ teams will be Newport Central Catholic High School and Corbin High School in addition to East and West.
Newport Central went 7-10-5 this fall and won the 36th District before falling in the region championship to Boone County.
Corbin is coming off a trip to the state tournament and a 14-win season with a region title.
Four games will be played each day, and the matchups and times will be announced at a later date.
The football teams have been set since August: South Oldham High School and Scott High School (Covington). The matchups and times have not been set, but both games will be played at East Jessamine.
South Oldham went 8-4 this fall, and Scott went 5-6.
