F-22A Raptor
These 90th Fighter Squadron F-22A Raptors are fifth-generation stealth air-superiority fighters capable of "supercruise," or flight at supersonic speeds without the use of afterburners. The F-22A carries air-to-air missiles and limited ground-attack munitions, as well as a 20mm Vulcan cannon, in internal bays that only open when deploying ordnance to preserve its radar-evading characteristics. A 525th Fighter Squadron F-22 crashed near Cantwell in November 2010; its pilot, Capt. Jeffrey Haney, was killed on impact. Used by: 90th Fighter Squadron, 525th Fighter Squadron (U.S. Air Force)
