O'Halloran ) Although desegregation had already begun in Birmingham, Alabama, the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church showed that while laws were slowly changing, hate and ignorance still had a hold on some communities. Four young girls were killed from the Ku Klux Klan-related bombings, and the church where they died still stands today. |
