Photo Gallery: New Courthouse Doors
Workers were busy Tuesday at the old Lincoln County Courthouse preparing for and installing new doors at the three main entranceways. The project, which has an approximately $46,000 pricetag, is being paid for through a federal energy efficiency grant as part of the stimulus bill. All contractors working on the project are from the area and all the products were manufactured in the U.S., including the new doors, which were fashioned from reclaimed cyprus salvaged from river mud in the southeast U.S. The cyprus wood is more than 100 years old -- around the same age as the courthouse itself.
