LEXINGTON — Three men have been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly conspiring to distribute more than 17 pounds of cocaine in Lincoln County and elsewhere.
Marvin “Buddy” Herring, 53, of Stanford, Roger P. Elmore, 61, of Grove Ridge in Casey County, and Kyle Todd, 22, of Stanford made their initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Lexington on Tuesday after being indicted on Jan. 10.
Along with the indictment, federal authorities have filed forfeiture allegations to take control of cash, guns and vehicles the men allegedly used in their drug operation.
The forfeiture request includes $36,000 in cash, 14 shotguns and rifles, five handguns, a 2002 Chevy pickup truck, a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer, a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle and a 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
Those items were used to to facilitate the distribution of cocaine or were obtained with proceeds from the alleged drug trafficking, according to court records.
If convicted, the three men face between five and 40 years in prison and fines up to $5 million each.
The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Karen K. Caldwell.
