Lincoln County Fire Chief Danny Glass announced today that Lincoln County is now under burn and fireworks bans until further notice.
The fireworks bans includes those with licenses for setting off fireworks, which means as long as the ban remains in place the Lincoln County Fair will not feature its traditional July 4 fireworks show.
"We've been holding off as long as we could," Glass said. "We really hate to spoil anyone's fireworks."
If rain hits Lincoln County, it's possible the bans could be lifted, allowing the big fireworks show to go forward. But until the county sees some moisture, it's too dangerous, he said.
