STANFORD — It’s been 20 years since the last time U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers represented Lincoln County residents inWashington, D.C.

Now that Lincoln has been switched back into Kentucky’s fifth congressional district, Rogers is back, and he paid a visit to the county Aug. 9.

Rogers was interviewed by Magistrate David Faulkner on Faulkner’s “Your Government” show that airs on WPBK. After that, Rogers ate at Kentucky Depot, met with local political and community leaders and introduced those gathered to several area programs he supports.

One of the programs Rogers talked about is Operation UNITE, a comprehensive anti-drug program that aims to reduce the negative impacts of drug abuse through law enforcement, treatment programs and education.

In order to allow UNITE investigators to operate in Lincoln County, Rogers and Judge-Executive Jim Adams signed a formal agreement while accompanied by incoming state Rep. David Meade and Lincoln County Sheriff Curt Folger.
