Johnny Ray Baker, 58, of Copper Creek, passed away Saturday, April 28, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon.  

Born Dec. 12, 1953, in Berea, Johnny was a son of the late John and Lorene Jones Baker. He was a retired master machine mechanic for the Trane Company and a member of Valley Baptist Church. 

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sherry Turner; and one brother,  Jeffrey Neal Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Nerissa Lynne Shelton Baker, who he married on Sept. 30, 1972; three children, Kristin Nicole (Shane) Miracle, John Nathan Baker and Melissa Lynne (Brandon) McIntosh; one brother,  Gary Wayne Baker; five grandchildren, Destiny Cheyenne Brogan, Eliana Brynne Baker, Jailyn Christine Brown, Brayden Connor McIntosh and Ember Brooke Miracle; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were May 1 at Valley Baptist Church on Copper Creek with Bros. Bobby Turner and Tony Shelton officiating. Burial was in Wilmot Chapel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Bill Baker, Mike Cable, James Jones, Bobby Dean Caldwell, Chris Faulkner, Mike Louallen and Lyndon Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin and Monte Shelton, Tom Schuler, Jeff Thompson, Mike McFerron and Bill Adams.
