Dr. Bradford Curry
Dr. Bradford Curry, 92, of Stanford, died Friday, Nov. 25, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Jan. 6, 1919, in Uptonville, Tenn., Dr. Curry was a son of the late John Milton Curry, M.D. and Mary P. Curry. He received his bachelor's degree from the Unicom University in Jackson, Tenn., and his Master of Theology/Doctor of Philosophy from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He was a Southern Baptist minister and pastored churches in Warsaw, Glasgow, Shively in Louisville, Jacksonville, Texas, Fairfield, Ill., Dallas, Texas, Fort Pierce, Fla., New Orleans, La., Denham Springs and Stanford. Dr. Curry was a member of the Stanford Baptist Church and the widower of Catherine Rigsby Curry, to whom he married June 22, 1944.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Wayne (Carolyn) Curry of Franklin, Tenn., Carol (James) Woodard of Henderson, Mary Ellen (Steve) Moore of Atlanta, Ga., John B. (Joyce) Hester of Hustonville, Charles "Buddy" (Sue) Hester of Danville, Ann Elizabeth (Jim) Wilson of Brentwood, Tenn., Thomas Walker of New Albany, Ind., and Edwin Walker of Portsmouth, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Mary Curry of Atlanta, Ga.; several great nieces and nephews; and several great, great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Nov. 28, at Stanford Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Earwood officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Stuart Underwood, Otis Cave, Odel Kirkpatrick, Jay Burton, Paul Long and Joe Hafley. Honorary pallbearers were the Stanford Baptist Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky, 400 E College Street Box 358, Georgetown, KY 40324-1696.
