James D. Proffitt
James D. Proffitt, 65, of Shepherdsville, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Robley Rex Veterans Medical Center in Louisville.
Born Dec. 29, 1945, in Rockcastle County, James was a son of the late Gordon and Betty June Napier Proffitt. He was a retired truck driver, an Army veteran and a member of the Cupio Community F&AM Masonic Lodge #341.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Riley Proffitt of Shepherdsville, whom he married on Aug. 24, 1988; twin daughters, Tammy Proffitt and Tina Russell; three sons, Leander Shane Proffitt, Billy Proffitt and Jimmy Proffitt; a sister, Janet Frazier of Crab Orchard; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were Nov. 29 at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Joey Hoskins officiating. Burial was in Crab Orchard Cemetery. Masonic services were Monday evening.
Military honors were provided by Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion.
Active pallbearers were Larry Stansbury, Mark and Doug Hoskins, Richard and James Riley and Tom Russell.
