Shirley Ann Simpson, 73, of Broughtontown, died Wednesday, March 6, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
Born Jan. 7, 1940, in Lincoln County, Shirley was a daughter of Viola (Brock) Noakes and the late Richard Noakes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Noakes.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Lee Simpson of Broughtontown, whom she married on April 1, 1972; a son, Kerry (Bessie) Simpson of Broughtontown; brothers, Jim Noakes of Science Hill and Jess and John Noakes both of Broughtontown; and two grandchildren, Eric and Lindsey Simpson of Broughtontown.
Funeral services were March 9 at McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Bro. Ralph Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Tim Noakes, Tommy Adams, Rodney Noakes, Eric Simpson, Joe French, Tony Todd and David Shelton.
