Mr. Glennis Edward Blanton, 72
Mr. Glennis Edward Blanton, 72, of Science Hill, passed away Thursday, March 8, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Born Sept. 25, 1939, in Harlan County, Glennis was a son of the late Walter and Carolyn Hess Blanton. He was a retired truck driver and mechanic for Vaught Bros. Mfg. and enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends and relaxing in the swing with his dog, Princess.
He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Bertha Lewis Blanton; and stepmother, Grace Blanton.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, June Slaybaugh Blanton of Science Hill; two sons, Terry (Gwen) Blanton and Eddie (Susan) Blanton of Eubank; one daughter, Cristi (Joshua) Collins of Eubank; four grandchildren, T.J. (Felicia) Blanton of Somerset and Amanda Blanton (Cody), Zachary Blanton and Sarah (Shaun) Duncan all of Eubank; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Caitlin, Kirsten and Bella Duncan; one sister, Evelyn Sue (Roger) Davis of Cottontown, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Mary Slaybaugh of Science Hill; brothers-in-law, Danny Slaybaugh of Indianapolis, Ind. and Billy Slaybaugh of Science Hill; a host of special nieces and nephews; and his loving best friend, Princess.
Funeral services were March 11, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill with Bros. Dusty York and Carson Atwood officiating. Burial was in Pulaski Cemetery.
