Beulah Hoskins Lewis, 68, of the Highland Community, passed away Friday, May 4, at the Golden Living Center.
Born in Bell County, Beulah was a daughter of the late James and Laura Taylor Hoskins. She was a teacher for 32 years, 26 of those years at Highland Elementary, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She took great pride in watching her students learn to read. Beulah was a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Elmer, Luther, Jack, Millard, J.M. G.W. and Bill Hoskins; and a sister, Irene Wilson.
Survivors include her loving husband, Larry D. Lewis of Highland; a son, Charlie (Jill) Lewis of Stanford; daughters, Suzanne (Scott) Montgomery of Stanford and Laura Beth Lewis of Danville; a brother, Paul (Jauana) Hoskins of East Tawas City, Mich.; sisters, Betty (Harold) Jeffery of Norwood, Ohio and Evelyn Robbins of Mt. Washington; and five grandchildren, Gentry and Peyton Lewis, Ryan Montgomery, Ethan Lewis and Savannah Carver.
Funeral services were Monday, May 7 at Mt. Moriah Christian Church with Revs. Phil Curry and Bill Gooch officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were nephews, David, Kevin and Dale Hoskins, Jim Robbins, Roger and Danny Lewis and Steve Robbins. Honorary pallbearers were past teachers she worked with at Highland Elementary.
Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
