Charles E. Newby, 73, of Lancaster, died July 30 at his residence.
Born May 25, 1939 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Seldon Newby and Minerva Humphry Guy. He was a farmer, a member and Captain of the Buckeye Fire Department and a member of Scott's Fork Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Adams Newby; a son, Charles R. "Randy" (Bernie) Newby; two daughters, Regina Miller and Deirdre (Steve) Pugh; two sisters, Carol Noel and Janice (Perry) Litton; and eight grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Darrell Newby and Doris Neal.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at Ramsey Funeral Home with funeral services Friday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home. Bro. Nathaniel Sallee, Bro. Bill Graves and Bro. Odis Clark will be officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
