Elgie Napier Jones, 89, of Stanford, died Monday, July 30 at her home.
She was born February 2, 1923 in Lincoln County to the late Henderson "Doc" and Bertie Horton Padgett. She was the widow of Darrell Napier and Herman Jones. She was a retired nurse, a member of the 1st Church of God, Stanford, and was a member of the Waynesburg Lodge Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her children, Paul (Wanda) Napier, Virda (Dormon) Hendry, Bill (Tiffany) Napier, Marilyn Floyd and Gary (Kathy) Napier, all of Stanford; a step daughter, Anna Rae Jeffries of Louisville; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at Spurlin Funeral Home, Stanford. Bro. Paul Bastin will be officiating the service with burial in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be grandson, Richard Floyd, Randy Napier, Billy Napier, Robbie Napier, Mike Tillett, Doug Tillett, Rick Tillett and Darrell Floyd. Honorary casketbearer will be grandson William Tuck Napier.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the 1st Church of God, 410 Logan Ave., Stanford, KY 40484.
