Patricia “Pat” Young Montgomery, 69, of Stanford, passed away Saturday, June 30 in Stanford.
Born March 29, 1943, in Stanford, Pat was a daughter of the late David and Ruby McGuffey Young. She worked as a secretary for Stanford High School, was a nurse/lab technician for 25 years in Stanford and had retired after 18 years as a Lincoln County Courthouse employee serving as secretary, payroll clerk and Deputy Judge Executive. Pat was a member of Stanford Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, friend and much more.
Pat was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janice Kathrine Montgomery.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Bob Montgomery of Stanford; a son, Scott (Suzanne) Montgomery of Stanford; a daughter, Karen (Steve) Patterson of Stanford; a brother, David Ronnie (Sheila) Young of Corbin; and three grandchildren, Kristin (Bruce) Williams, Connor Patterson and Ryan Montgomery.
Funeral services were July 3, at Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Max Hester officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bruce Williams, Jason Henegar, Shawn Cottongim, Bruce and Vic Young and Charlie Lewis. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Candler, Fred Reichenbach, Rod Bates, John Sims, Ronnie "Buckwheat" Gilbert, Robert Wayne Young, Burl Cornelius, Bobby Young and Marvin Kayes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to the Lincoln County Relay for Life.
Fox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
