Samuel Duvall Bastin, 74, of Stanford, died Thursday, July 5, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 4, 1937, Samuel was a son of the late Holly Ray and Ethel Robinson Bastin in Stanford. He was a a retired Army veteran (Vietnam) having served 21 years.
Survivors include children, Sharon (Danny) Baker, Karen (Kim) Sowders, Samuel D. (Shannon) Bastin II and Ray Bastin; their mother, Pauline Goode Hopkins; step-daughters, Anita (Richard) Floyd and Nancy (Jeff) Baker; their mother, Joyce Miracle Durham Bastin; and sisters, Dean Anding and Ann Endress.
Funeral services were July 8 at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery on July 9.
