BASKETBALL

Youth

Ten South Dakota youth basketball teams in grades 5-9 claimed titles in the recent Pacesetter South Dakota Youth Basketball State Championships at Sioux Falls, where 85 teams were entered.

The top two South Dakota boys' and girls' teams at each grade level are now invited to advance to Minneapolis for the Pacesetter Great Four-State Championships at the Target Center, where they will play the top two teams from Minnesota, North Dakota and Iowa this summer. The eight-team tournaments will be June 23 (9th grade), July 7 (8th grade), July 8 (7th grade), Aug. 18 (6th grade) and Aug. 19 (5th grade) in conjunction with a Minnesota Lynx game.

Area qualifying teams are Milbank (9th grade girls' runner-up), Aberdeen Central (6th-grade boys' champion), Warner (7th-grade boys' champion and 9th-grade boys' runner-up). Details: pacesetternet.com.
