TAMPA, Fla. -- Each of the Orioles' first five batters facing Yankees starter Nik Turley scored before the New York left-hander could record a single out Wednesday afternoon as the O’s ran out to a quick seven-run lead in a 10-7 win.
A rematch of last year’s American League Division Series it was not. The Orioles brought 12 players from the team’s minor league minicamp to fill the later innings, and the Yankees’ starting lineup included just two bona fide starters.
The Orioles finish their split-squad doubleheader with a home night game against the Boston Red Sox.

Batting cleanup against the Yankees, Steve Pearce drove in three runs for the Orioles, including a two-out, two-run single that made it 7-0. Pearce -- who spent last season shuffling between the Orioles, Yankees and Astros -- also has an RBI double in the first and has a team-leading six RBIs in two spring games.
Designated hitter Conor Jackson was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and catcher Luis Exposito added a two-out, two-run single in the seventh inning.
Right-hander Jake Arrieta, making his second spring appearance and first start, induced five ground outs over 1 2/3 innings, but he was hurt by two ground-ball base hits and a pair of walks. He left the game with two on and two out in the second. Both of those runs scored when T.J. McFarland yielded a bases-loaded triple to Brett Gardner, making the score 7-4.
Dylan Bundy, Todd Redmond and Steve Johnson each threw a pair of scoreless innings for the Orioles.
The Yankees loaded the bases and brought the game-winning run to the plate before 2012 second-round pick Branden Kline retired Adonis Garcia on a ground out to third to end the game.
