    J. H. Atkins, the Centre College Assistant Vice President for Diversity Education who was recruited to help the Lincoln County School District work through racial issues after an incident last February, was eager to talk about the future at a community forum Tuesday night, but the attendees, mostly African-Americans, wanted to talk about the here and now. Atkins has been working in the district, mostly focussing his attention on Lincoln County Middle School (LCMS), since March and wanted to report the progress he feels he’s making in the school, but before he was able to proceed some meeting goers wanted to hear answers to specific questions about what they viewed as immediate problems, like a teacher who stood by while a student made comments about lynchings on a bridge down near Waynesburg.
