    Like many other travelers, I’ve lost several keychain pocketknives to the TSA that I forgot to remove from the ring. I once lost a drawing pen, then I figured out that by removing the point from the handle and packing it separately, the TSA’s suspicions that I was carrying a potential weapon would be allayed (even though I could easily reassemble it on board the plane and use it to poke my seatmate).
