    <strong>When is the best time to divide daylilies? </strong>August and September, after they are finished blooming for the year. If it is a very late cultivar, Let a late cultivar continue to bloom until it is finished. The second choice of time for dividing is March. However, daylilies can be dug and divided from Feb - Oct. Note: when planting bare root plants, water them in well with plain water and then soak them with Fertilome Root Stimulator or Ortho Upstart (according to label recommendations). Then, do not water them again until they have taken hold and started to put out new leaves. It is easy to overwater newly planted bare root plants causing them to rot.
